In May 2007, the ATO Alumni Board endowed the "ATO Award for Academic Excellence" through Gettysburg College, which will be awarded each year (starting in fall 2008) to the ATO senior with the highest cumulative GPA in the ATO senior class. This College endowed ATO Award is one of three award programs that our alumni board has for members of the ATO Chapter.

      In addition, we endowed the "Gettysburg Alpha Upsilon Chapter Scholarship" through the ATO Foundation that will be awarded to an outstanding all-around member of the senior class based on the following criteria: Contributions to ATO (40%); Contributions to the College and the community (30%) and Cumulative GPA (30%). This scholarship will be awarded based on applications submitted by juniors in April of each year.

ATO actives in the Junior Class can access the application form for the Gettysburg Alpha Upsilon Chapter Scholarship by clicking here. Applications must be submitted by April 1.

      The amount of the ATO Foundation Scholarship and the College ATO Award will each be about $2,000-2,500 each year The actual amounts awarded are based on the earnings from the endowed funds at the ATO Foundation and the College.

      The third program we established is the "ATO Alumni Board Awards" for academic achievement each semester. These awards go to: the ATO with the highest GPA in the Chapter during the past semester, the members of ATO in the other two classes with the highest GPA in their classes and the ATO with the best improvement in his GPA over the prior semester.

      The ATO with the highest GPA in the Chapter will receive $1,500 and the other three winners will receive $1,000 each. These amounts are subject to change based on the financial condition of the alumni corporation, which can be affected by too many vacancies in the Chapter House.

ATO alumni can help build the endowed awards by making tax-deductible contributions to:

(1) Gettysburg College by specifying that the donation is to be added to the "ATO Endowed Award for Academic Excellence";

(2) the ATO Foundation by specifying that the donation is to be added to the "Gettysburg Alpha Upsilon Chapter Scholarship Endowment Fund".
